The Middle Rhine Valley has been regarded since the beginning of the 19th century as the epitome of the romantic landscape. The nature and mild climate attracted wealthy merchants from the Lower Rhine, who sought refuge here from the hectic city life. Their love for the region was reflected in the magnificent country houses they built here. They spent their “summer freshness” there, often only for a few weeks a year.

Even in Niederbreisig, beautiful summer villas emerged between the Coblenz Chaussee and the Rhine, of which only a few still exist today. One of these last witnesses of time is the Villa Zur Erholung. Built in 1892 for a textile manufacturer, the centrally located house is now open to cyclists, bikers, hikers, business travelers, and vacationers seeking something special. There are five theme rooms to choose from that revive the spirit of that time.

Spacious rooms, some with balconies, lovingly furnished with selected antiques and some quirky accessories, allow you to forget everyday life.
