The over 100-year-old Hentzenpark on the banks of the Rhine was transformed in 2001, in preparation for the 2000-year celebration of Remagen, by Caroline Bittermann & Peter Duka as part of the "Sculpture Shore Remagen" into the art project "secret gardens rolandswerth". The artist couple based their concept on the idea that landscape and nature are perceived as an image. The starting point for the redesign of the 19th-century garden area is the writings of Novalis (1772–1801). The letters N-O-V-A-L-I-S can be found on the park benches. Bats and wild bees are welcomed in the plant tower made of concrete designed by Bittermann & Duka. A documentation of the history of the area can be seen in the old greenhouse.
