Werner Brattig "Profilkopf" / Stahl, H: 150, B: 50, T: 130cm
Werner Brattig's artistic expression is undoubtedly characterized by his studies in Düsseldorf with Otto Coester and Ferdinand Macketanz as well as his time with André Lhote in Paris. The stylistic influence of Cubism becomes increasingly evident in his work. The knowledge of exact drawing, of nature, enables him to reveal his art in the interpenetration of science and sensibility, i.e. Brattig's sensibility is as open to the experience of the effectiveness of painterly means as it is to the study of nature.
