9. In Search of "Minerality" - The Soils of the Engelstein Vineyard

One of the great mysteries of wine is the question of how geology affects the taste of wine. A question with surprising answers.
Many years ago, we had the vineyard soils of our monopole sites "In der Zech" and "Am weißen Wacke" mapped by a geologist. Here, the challenge of defining so-called "terroirs" already became apparent. But how are soil and taste actually connected? A recent publication from England has explored this question... A lecture and wine tasting alternate to delve into this intensely cultivated mystery of the wine world. Is it all just a hot air balloon?

As always, there will be an extensive wine tasting on the topic.
There will also be bread, butter, and cheese (with vegan alternatives available upon request).
Max. 12 participants, 45.00 EUR per person, each from 6:30 PM to around 10:00 PM.
