Since the Middle Ages, a particle of the Holy Cross has been displayed for veneration in the parish community on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. The market traders followed the pilgrims - thus the traditional Breisiger "Zwibbelsmaat" was born.
This year, around 150 vendors with their stalls line the banks of the Rhine promenade and the paths in the spa park, as well as the streets of the city center.
Here you can find everything a person might need, from a sharpening stone for knives, woolen socks to broom handles, as well as onion bags, all of which are rarely found in regular stores. Additionally, a diverse supporting program featuring live music and walking acts invites visitors to linger in the spa town on the Rhine.
