Moonlight Ride with the Vulkan-Expreß
A classic is back on the schedule

Traveling through the Brohltal in the light of the full moon aboard the Vulkan-Expreß, enjoying the summer evening by the campfire, and finally setting off on a guided night hike – all this is promised by the Moonlight Ride of the Brohltalbahn on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

With the evening tour, a classic returns to the schedule this year: After several years of interruption, the Brohltalbahn is once again offering the popular evening ride this summer!

The journey starts at 6:15 PM from the Brohltalbahnhof in Brohl-Lützing, directly opposite the DB train station. In an evening atmosphere, the ride ascends through the narrow lower Brohltal, over bridges and through a tunnel to Burgbrohl and further to Oberzissen at the foot of Burg Olbrück. From there, guests will reach a scenic barbecue hut as part of a guided hike, where a delicious dinner will be served in a summery atmosphere by the campfire.

As darkness falls, a night hike will begin through the full moon night, at the end of which the "Vulkan-Expreß" will be ready for the return journey. The return journey through the night in the nostalgic carriages will take you back to Brohl, where the train will arrive around 00:40 AM. The fare (including dinner and hike) is 30 euros for adults and 15 euros for children. Pre-registration or online booking is required to participate.
