Bergarbeitersiedlung
Oberstraße 10, 55422 Bacharach
The planning was carried out by the architectural firm Markwort & Seibert from Darmstadt, which was also responsible for the architecture of the mine buildings of the Amalienhöhe mine. The residential buildings of the works housing estate were designed as replacement housing for the houses in Waldalgesheim damaged by mining subsidence. They are located in Ernst-Esch-Straße 1-11 and 2-10, in Gartenstraße 3-17 and in Provinzialstraße 26-32. The settlement was built with small farmsteads in baroque or neoclassical Heimatstil. The uniform, austere layout is one of the most remarkable factory housing estates built in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century.
